Buying the book "Shahih Muslim"

Year 2012 might be a year with lots of books released on current affairs and coup in Maldives, with live TV coverages. During this September when Sheik Hussein Rasheed Ahmed inaugurated his Dhivehi translation of Shahih Muslim, I intended to buy the book on the inauguration night where the price was 100 MVR lower than the original price. But with the busy office works resulted to lose the book in discount rate. Later I found that the book is available in Sheik’s bookshop, but I had no information of the address. Therefore, I planned to buy the book on a weekend where I may have enough time to probe all over Male’ for the shop.
With a plan to find the bookshop, I hit the road to purchase some foodstuffs listed from home.  While doing the weekly shopping, I asked a shopkeeper (black veiled woman) whether she knows the shop of sheik Rasheed. Her face paled to red and I saw the anger on her eyes through the eye glasses.
She answered “don’t ask me about him”.
Surprisingly, I asked why?
She replied “look what he has wrote in his last book”.
“That’s what I am going to buy!” I answered to her.
Her anger seem increasing and another lady who was buying some food items joined her and said, “in that book I couldn’t understand anything, that MDP man do not know anything about Islam”.
Then I realized what happened here, it is not the book.
So I asked the ladies, did you read the whole book or do you know Arabic? How can you prove the book is wrong? They stayed quite with anger on their faces.
May be these women have political view contradict with MDP, may be they are better Muslims who pray 5 times a day but I think they have envy on other Muslims on political interest. But I was surprised to see them criticize the book while they cannot prove the mistakes in the translations.
Anyway on the way out, a boy guided me the address and name of the bookshop, Risala Bookshop is situated in front of Novelty Bookshop in Fareedhee Magu. I bought some more books along with Shahih Muslims. I may read the book and placed in my rack for further references, but I still feel pity on the mentality of our people. Jealousy, envy and hatred among one another without any proper evidence or purpose. That they even do not know they are killing religious values on doing so.
